Anupama Kundoo is Head of Anupama Kundoo Architects and a Professor of Architecture at the Potsdam School of Architecture in Germany.
Her architectural practice, started in 1990, demonstrates a strong focus on material research to achieve architecture of low environmental impact that is also socio-economically beneficial.
Anupama Kundoo established herself as an architect in Auroville where she designed and built many buildings with energy and water efficient infrastructure adaptations (1990-2002).
She graduated from Sir JJ College of Architecture, University of Bombay and obtained her Ph.D. from the Technical University, Berlin.
Anupama Kundoo taught at the Technical University, Berlin, and Darmstadt in Hesse (2005). She worked as Assistant Professor at Parsons The New School for Design, New York (2005-11) and was then a senior lecture at The University of Queensland, Brisbane (2011-14), and the European School of Architecture & Technology at the Universidad Camilo José Cela in Madrid (2014-18).
Her research-oriented practice was exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012 and 2016.
Anupama Kundoo was a member of the Holcim Awards 2023 jury for Europe.
