Rahul Srivastava is Co-Founder of urbz and The Institute of Urbanology, a platform that promotes experimental research and collective action for urban development, and was a member of the Holcim Foundation Awards 2017 jury for Asia Pacific.

He was a workshop respondent on urban density at the 6th Holcim Forum 2019 on “The Economy of Sustainable Construction”.

He co-founded ‘hood, a planning and design studio specializing in neighborhood-level interventions with its office in Geneva. ‘hood’s current projects include affordable housing, urban preservation, and mobility studies.

Rahul Srivastava studied anthropology in Mumbai, New Delhi and Cambridge (United Kingdom). He taught at Wilson College in Mumbai for seven years and has been invited as a speaker and fellow at institutions around the world including: New School University; Yale University; Columbia University; Princeton University; Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology (ETH Zurich and EPFL Lausanne); Nara University; and the University of Tokyo.

He was the first Director of PUKAR in Mumbai. He has presented his research and projects at Berkeley University, the Max Planck Institute and the World Bank, as well as forums such as TEDx, Urban Age, Just Metropolis, and J-Store.

Rahul Srivastava has published essays and articles in Oxford University Press, Domus, Volume magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Hindu, The Times of India, Time Out, and Art India.

His videos have been exhibited as part of installations by urbz at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Bordeaux; and the Chicago Architecture Biennial 2015.
