Ameya Athavankar is an Independent Design Consultant based in Mumbai, India and was a Facilitator of the Mobile Workshop “Affordable Habitat” at the 4th Holcim Forum 2013 held in Mumbai. He also collaborates with architects and architectural design firms on a range of projects.

He was previously a Design Consultant at the Shenoy Innovation Studio, Industrial Design Centre (IDC) of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay). He was part of a team working on developing affordable habitat solutions for rural and urban India.
Ameya Athavankar graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad in 2008. His areas of interest include people watching, design innovation and affordable housing.
