He presented “Motivating stakeholders to deliver change” at the 3rd Holcim Forum 2010 “Re-inventing Construction” in Mexico City, and was a member of the concluding panel of experts at the 5th Holcim Forum 2016 on “Infrastructure Space” in Detroit, USA.
SEED aims to promote entrepreneurship for sustainable development, focusing on providing adequate support to small and growing eco-inclusive enterprises. Arab has recently completed his responsibility as Team Leader of EU-SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility, 2017-2021, with the aim to induce and enable stakeholders in Asian Countries in developing and delivering policies and actions in support to transformative change for sustainable consumption and production/SCP.
Arab Hoballah was previously UNEP Chief of Sustainable Consumption and Production and in senior positions for more than 30 years in support to sustainable development. World Citizen, Arab is specialized in systemic and prospective analysis.
He spent 14 years working in the UNEP Regional Seas Programme as the Deputy Coordinator of the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP). He was also responsible for the Secretariat of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development; he was the Deputy Director of the Blue Plan, one of MAP's Regional Activity Centres (1991-98); and worked for several institutions with World Bank projects in developing countries.
Arab Hoballah completed a Masters of Economic Tools & Prospective Analysis and a Masters of Law & International Relations at Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II) before undertaking a PhD in Economic Development at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.
