The Ecological Building Network (aka EBNet) promotes and fosters building to favor intelligent design, clean energy, and healthy materials. It is a non-profit coalition of engineers, builders, and architects developing and disseminating best technologies for the built environment.
He has served as a green/clean technology advisor to numerous start-ups and other organizations. He has worked on high-rise structures in San Francisco, aircraft remodelling in Miami, resorts in Tahiti, Buddhist monasteries in the Colorado Rockies, passive solar design, and stand-alone houses.
He was previously a consulting structural engineer in his private practice Bruce King (1988-2012) and an engineer at Skidmore Owings & Merrill (1979-81).
He studied architecture at the University of Colorado Boulder (1978).
He is author of Design of Straw Bale Buildings (Green Building Press, 2006), Making Better Concrete (Green Building Press, 2005), and Buildings of Earth and Straw (Green Building Press, 1996).
