Christophe Levy
Scientific Director, Holcim Innovation Center, France
Christophe Levy is Scientific Director and Director R&D Concrete & Aggregates at the Holcim Innovation Centre near Lyon, France, and is a member of the Holcim Awards 2025 jury for Middle East & Africa.
He participated in the first Roundtable to prepare the topics of the Holcim Forum and was a member of the Holcim Foundation Awards 2020 jury for North America and the Holcim Foundation Awards 2023 jury for Middle East & Africa.
Christophe Levy has over 30 years of experience in construction materials, including 20 years in research and development. He began his career in road construction as part of his national service for the French Ministry of Cooperation in the Central African Republic (1984-85). He worked for major French contractor Bouygues (1985-87) on several high-profile projects including the Arche de la Défense, Paris.
Christophe Levy commenced at Holcim in 1988 with various roles in marketing and sales, laboratory management, project management, production, and research and development. He was appointed Research & Development Director for Concrete and Aggregates at the Holcim Innovation Center (2001-08); Vice-President in Marketing at Lafarge Ready-Mix based in Chennai, India (2008-09); Lafarge Sustainable Construction Director (2009-13); R&D Director Construction Solutions (2013-17); and Head of Marketing & Innovation, Holcim USA (2017-18) before appointment to his current position in December 2018.
He studied Civil Engineering at Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics in Paris (1984).
His research has been published in several international publications, he has more than 20 published patents to his credit and is co-inventor of several the current value-added cements, concretes and building systems of Holcim.
