Davy Sukamta & Partners structural engineers designed the first major tall building in Jakarta, the Bank Tabungan Negara Tower with 25 floors in 1990. The firm was also first to use a core-outrigger wall system at Amartapura Condominium on Indonesia’s tallest apartment building. The firm won the Indonesian Ministry of Settlement and Infrastructure Construction Award for “Multistory Buildings” for their design of the Amartapura Condominium in 2003.
Davy Sukamta studied civil engineering at Parahyangan Catholic Universtiy in Bandung, Indonesia. He has been a practicing structural and foundation engineer since 1978 and completed more than 300 major projects.
He was president of the Indonesian Society for Civil & Structure Engineers (Himpunan Ahli Konstruksi Indonesia - HAKI) for four terms 1999-2011, and has been a member of the board of advisors on Building Structure for the City of Jakarta (Tim Penasehat Konstruksi Bangunan) since 2001.
His research has been published in Structural Engineering International and Journal of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, along with presentations at conferences in Indonesia, Australia, China and South Korea.
