Gilles Saucier has been a visiting professor and an invited critic at several Canadian and American universities including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Montréal, McGill University, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, and University of Seattle.

He has also been invited as a guest speaker for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Seattle and San Francisco, as well as for the Canadian Centre for Architecture and the New York Architectural League. He has also lectured at the Power-Plant series in Toronto and for Architecture Rampant at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.

Gilles Saucier received his degree in architecture from the University of Laval, Canada in 1982.
