Find out more & ApplyThe two-week intensive in-person course aims to empower students by bridging the gap between education and the practice of sustainable construction. Open to final year masters students and recent graduates of universities in the United States and Canada, this unique program will provide a platform for master's students and practitioners to collaboratively explore and challenge existing modes of practice, fostering a curiosity and solutions-driven mindset.
Key Highlights of the Fellowship
Eligibility: The fellowship is open to current students and recent graduates in fields such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Historic Preservation, Structural/Civil/Construction Engineering, and Real Estate Development in the United States and Canada.
Why Apply: Participants will have the opportunity to boost their careers by engaging with leading design firms in New York City, becoming part of a global network of Holcim Foundation Fellows committed to shaping the future of sustainable construction. Participants selected for the Fellowship will be provided with housing and travel assistance for the duration of the program and receive full tuition for the course.
Structure: The intensive two-week course includes site visits, discussions of real projects with collaborating firms, focused lectures on relevant themes, and the chance to present findings to industry experts and peers at a concluding panel event.
Holcim Foundation Emerging ChangeMakers: Selected fellows may continue their journey by participating in the next step of the program - the Holcim Foundation Emerging ChangeMakers - and attend the 2025 Emerging ChangeMakers Retreat.
Networking Opportunities: Fellows will gain access to the Holcim Foundation's international network of professionals and academic institutions, providing continued opportunities for career growth.
Partnering Firms: Fellows will have the chance to visit case study projects in New York City, engaging with practicing professionals from leading design firms Arup, Henning Larsen, and SOM.
