There’s a new feature in the LafargeHolcim Awards Main Category entry form. For the first time, we’re asking all Main Category entrants to provide a qualitative narrative on CO2 Lifecycle Assessment. Global greenhouse emissions must be significantly reduced in the future, and the LafargeHolcim Awards seeks projects that make a contribution toward this objective.

Considering the mandate of the Paris Climate Agreement under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (adopted 2015 and ratified 2016), what measures have been taken to reduce the CO2 emissions of your project? Please outline your thoughts on the matter in a short qualitative narrative of 800 characters (including spaces), which is around 150 words.

Your response to the CO2 Lifecycle Assessment will be part of the material reviewed by the LafargeHolcim Awards juries. The five “target issues” for sustainable construction serve as evaluation criteria for the LafargeHolcim Awards – and the CO2 Lifecycle Assessment will be factored into your project’s evaluation in terms of the “target issue” Resource and environmental performance – PLANET.

The CO2 Lifecycle Assessment is applicable ONLY for submissions in the Main Category where it is compulsory – it is NOT part of the LafargeHolcim Awards Next Generation category entry form.
