Image is everything!

Tip #4 – LafargeHolcim Awards

A picture is worth 1,000 words – so it’s worth making the most of the image section of your LafargeHolcim Awards competition entry. Images are an important opportunity to explain your project in a compelling way to the independent regional Awards jury, especially since space for text is limited. The images should focus on the key points of your project and how it responds to the “target issues” for sustainable construction.

Each submission can include up to ten project images as well as a project author/team photo via the online entry form. An image file can be composed of two or more images and contain texts and tables provided readability is assured. Two of the images (#1 and #2) are presented in a larger format and should therefore be the most compelling visual representations of the project.

Images are presented in landscape format in the proportion 4:3. Images in other formats (eg: portrait) and other ratios will not use the full space allocated. Image files can include photos, graphics, renderings, plans, tables, or combinations of visual elements. Further details about image formats, captions, uploading and more is available in the comprehensive “Step-by-step” guide (see p.10 and pp.28-29) ... but if you feel “out of the picture” and need further information, please contact the Helpdesk.
