He won the Holcim Foundation Awards 2005 Bronze for Europe for Metropol Parasol - Redevelopment of Plaza de la Encarnación in Seville, Spain. The project demonstrates an innovative layering of varied cultural and commercial programs to revitalize a historical town square.
Jürgen Mayer H. studied at Stuttgart University, The Cooper Union and at Princeton University. His work has been published and exhibited worldwide and is part of international collections including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) New York and San Francisco.
Jürgen Mayer H. was awarded the Mies-van-der-Rohe Award in 2003 for emerging architects for Stadthaus Ostfildern, Germany.
Jürgen Mayer H. has taught at Princeton University, University of the Arts Berlin, Harvard University, Kunsthochschule Berlin, the Architectural Association in London, the Columbia University, New York, and at the University of Toronto, Canada.
