Wolfgang Kessling is the Director of climate engineering company Transsolar, which aims to build structures that provide the highest possible comfort levels – with the lowest possible impact on the environment.
He was a member of the Holcim Foundation Awards 2020 Bronze winning team for High-Performance Tower in Australia: Energy-efficient urban tower. The Atlassian Central project was praised for its “outstanding energy performance combined with an indisputable aesthetic character”. He was also a member of the Holcim Foundation Awards 2017 Bronze winning team for Floating University in Bangladesh: BRAC University campus. The jury noted how “sustainability is deeply integrated into the building design and conceived as a larger rejuvenation project for the city”.
Wolfgang Kessling focuses on low energy/high comfort concepts for hot and humid climates. He believes that the key to comfort is recognizing that environmental conditions are influenced by all aspects and stages of design.
He has been a project manager for the Experimental Cloud in Frankfurt, Germany and the Gehry building for Novartis in Basel, Switzerland. In Asia he has worked on the innovative cooling concept of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand and the first Zero Energy Office in Malaysia.
